School Then and Now

I was learning to compare and contrast what schools were like in the past to now.

now I now that in the 1800s the children were forced to use their right hand.

It was easy because of our trip to the Howick Historical Village helped us know what schools were like in the past.

Te Reo Maori Feelings

I was learning to identify Maori words for our feelings.

Now I can describe how I am feeling in Te Reo Maori.

It was easy because there were matching colours.

Swimming

I love swimming because if we fall into the water we will know how to be safe and swim properly. I also like to swim because we can practice, and practice makes perfect swimming! So I can be a swimming teacher when I grow up!

We Are Learning To write a diamante poem.

We have been learning about Diamante poem's this term. We can:

• use interesting (adjectives) words
• compare two topics
• use verbs (doing) words

"I am learning to write a diamante poem. I found it tricky to write some long words because they have lots of letters. I found it easy to write rough."

"I am learning to say tricky words. I find it easy to do the activities i have already done in Year 1. I find it tricky to read some of the books. My goal is to finish reading eggs and start Reading Eggspress."
